Storq Library: Books on Parenthood

Sometimes you might be looking for parenting advice and other times it may not be so welcome. The ways that we choose to parent our kids can often become a battleground pitting one set of beliefs against another — that is not what we’re here to promote. This is a selection of books that we have found helpful, or are interested to explore, filled with unique ideas and different approaches to childrearing today.

There are one trillion parenting books about potty training, sleeping, schooling and all the other topics we google constantly. But how about a book to help make sure your kid doesn’t grow up to a total a-hole? Also pretty important, right? Here you go.
A touching book about the journey of two women starting a family together alongside the history of fertility and the LGBTQ+ community, reminding us that there is no one way to become a family.

The pressure our society places on parents to groom our children to become happy and successful adult humans is very real and very fraught. By examining child development through the lens of human evolution and the latest scientific research, this book argues that we are doing "parenting" all wrong (which is how we feel anyway ahahahaha JK but seriously).
When it comes to impending or new parenthood, the advice flows freely. Sometimes too freely, ya know? But this book is like your good buddy giving you the low down, not pushy, not too serious. Just-right thoughts for important times.
